A New Year, a Refreshed Website, and More Services.

It's amazing to me that it is already almost 2015. My freelance business is two years old, and I am more excited than ever to see what possibilities come in the next year. I've been remodeling the site, and am looking into providing some more book marketing services for my author friends such as website design, Amazon book promotion, and perhaps even a YouTube promotion strategy; I'm open to suggestions from anyone who is looking for a service that I haven't provided in the past.

Just got the news that a trailer I produced for the novel "Between Land and Sea" won second place in a book trailer contest held by the review blog You Gotta Read! So happy for the author, Joanne Guidoccio, and very grateful that she entered the video in the contest.

Should Your Book Have a Trailer?

I’m always taken aback by the wide variance of opinions regarding book trailers. By opinions, I mean people who take to the internet to vehemently tear book trailers down for merely existing, or sing the highest of praises in their honor. I’m sure the whole argument would still mystify me if I wasn’t a book trailer producer, but since I am… well, I promise you’ll get my honest opinion anyway.

The Gray Ship goes to #1 on Amazon!

Amidst my book trailer videos, there stands "The Gray Ship". A fascinating tale of history and time travel. The author, Russ Moran, emailed me this afternoon to tell me the news that the novel has reached #1 on the Amazon>Science Fiction>Time Travel chart, and is #4 in Alternative history; just 3 spots behind Stephen King. It sold 1,100 copies in its first 6 weeks of release. It's such exciting news, that I wanted to share it with everyone. Russ did an excellent job with his novel; I lo...

Doctor Who converse iron-on!

A while back I uploaded this to my old blog, which I let the domain expire on. Of course I'd pinned it to Pinterest from there, so yucky broken link. So now I'm hosting this image for a Converse shoe iron-on HERE. I could have just let it be, but I want future Pinterest re-pins to actually link to somewhere. I have broken link OCD.

Word of mouth is doing me many favors as of late. Lots of requests for book videos, and I couldn't be happier about it! I've added a testimonial page to the site, after being given the idea from a client. Then he proceeded to give me a great start by providing a glowing testimonial for me to post there. Thanks, Russell!

A Good Few Weeks...

Posted by ErinKelly on February 5, 2013 at 2:25 PM Comments comments (0)

Luckily it's been a pretty productive few weeks on the work front. I've gotten a website editing job and I've got a real-estate photography gig that's been paying some bills. I'm thankful for these, because it's allowing me to spend less time at the day job. Unfortunately though, the day job is getting CRAZY with Valentine's Day looming. Floral design is NOT the job to have at Valentine's day unless you own your own flower shop; all the stress and none of the financial rew...

I wrote this little guy because I am feeling the money pinch already in 2013. That's all I really have to say about that!
